Summary

The Congressional Research Service’s plain-language summary of what the law does.

Amends the Central Utah Project Completion Act to direct the Secretary of the Interior to permit the prepayment of repayment contracts between the United States and the Central Utah Water Conservancy District dated December 28, 1965, and supplemented on November 26, 1985, for the repayment of municipal and industrial water delivery facilities under similar terms and conditions as contained in the supplemental contract providing for the prepayment of the Jordan Aqueduct System dated October 28, 1993. Allows such prepayment to be provided in several installments. Prohibits any adjustment on the basis of the type of prepayment financing utilized by the District. Requires the District to exercise its right to such prepayment by the end of FY 2002.

Data notes

The House’s recorded vote on the final version of the law (roll call 1004 in Voteview), matched to the vote the record cites and checked against its totals. Positions are each member’s DW-NOMINATE score for that Congress, as on the Ideology page; left to right is more liberal to more conservative. Paired and announced yea votes count as yea. Lists follow the compass, most liberal first. A name links to a profile only for members of the current Congress. A law passed by voice vote or unanimous consent has no member list, and neither does a vote Voteview has not yet recorded.
